因着拘留所事工需要不同语文的圣经而去到塔科马海员福音会索取，认识了负责人保罗牧师，才知道原来奥林匹亚港也有中国船只来运载木头。奥林匹亚华人教会从2014十二月底开始接待中国船员，周牧师及另一位同工办了特别准证，可以进入码头带有美签的船员出来购物或补充粮食，多次获得船长邀请上船与船员们共进晚餐，饭后带大家唱一些福音诗歌，听弟兄姐妹见证分享。每次上船都分发一些圣经和刊物，曾有船员到我们教会参加聚会，也有决志接受主耶稣的。船员事工也在华州南部朗维尔市开展，由当地华人教会弟兄姐妹负责协助船员，有机会上船聚会时就通知奥林匹亚华人教会支援。
有一次上船时自我介绍是华人基督教会来探访，船员异口同声说船长也“信这个”。原来十几年前当船长還是水手的时候，加拿大温哥华一间华人教会到港口带领他信了主。使徒保罗在哥林多林前书 3:6说：“我栽种了、亚波罗浇灌了．惟有神叫他生长。”譲我们继续服事这一批批来到我们港口的海上游子，把福音传给他们。
The need for bibles in different languages brought us to the Tacoma Seafarers Center. Pastor Paul Peterson, the director, opened our eyes to the Chinese ships that dock at the Port of Olympia to load up lumber. The ministry to serve Chinese seamen was launched in Dec. 2014. Pastor Zhou and another brother applied for TWIC cards that allowed them to enter the port and take seamen who have US visas on shopping trips. When invited by the captain, OCCC members go on board to have a meal with the crew followed by a time of singing and testimony. Each time we go on board bibles and Christian literature are distributed. Some seamen have visited our church and some have prayed to accept Jesus. The Chinese ship ministry has expanded to the Port of Longview. Brothers and sisters from the Longview Chinese Church serve the needs of the crew and OCCC sends a team to help them conduct meetings.
On one occasion we got on a ship and introduced ourselves as from the Chinese Christian Church, the crew unanimously responded that their captain also believed in “this”. About ten years ago when captain was still a sailor, some Chinese church members led him to accept Jesus when the ship docked at Vancouver BC.
“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” I Corinthians 3:6 （NIV)
Let us press on to serve and share the Gospel with the wanderers that come to our port on ships.
