公元2000年一月份西雅图港口迎来四个装有近一百位福建偷渡客的集装箱，其中一箱有三人在途中病逝。基督教社会服务机构世界救援会的会长邀请西雅图华人教会到位于国际區的拘留所开始福音聚会。拘留所在2004年搬到塔歌玛市时几位奥林匹亚华人教会的弟兄姐妹也加入服事团队，原本纯中文的聚会也转型为每周末六场国际教会聚会，由一群讲多国语言的教会义工服事里面来自一百多个国家的拘留人士。多年来奥林匹亚华人教会持续供应了几百本中文圣经给里面的中国人，截至九月底已经有308位男女在2018年接受洗礼，其中不少是中国人。
无论他们是来寻求政治庇护或是犯过法的，我们都愿意与他们分享福音好消息，因为唯有耶稣是他们美国梦的答案，也唯有他能够赐给他们一个新生命。
马太福音25：36,39,40 – “…..我在监里，你们来看我。….又什么时候见你病了，或是在监里，来看你呢？王要回答说，我实在告诉你们，这些事你们既作在我这弟兄中一个最小的身上，就是作在我身上了。”
Four containers carrying almost a hundred Chinese stowaways arrived in Seattle in January 2000. Three men succumbed to the treacherous journey in one of the containers. The director of World Relief Seattle, a Christian social work organization, invited the Chinese Churches to reach out to these Chinese who were detained in an old building near the International District. In 2004 this detention center moved to Tacoma and several members from the Olympia Chinese Christian Church joined the ministerial team. The exclusively Chinese Christian church services have evolved to 6 vibrant international services each weekend. Christian volunteers who speak multi languages minister to detainees from more than a hundred countries. Over the years the Olympia Chinese Christian Church has supplied hundreds of Chinese bibles distributed to the Chinese detainees. As of September 304 detainees have been baptized in 2018 with many Chinese among them.
We want to share the Good News to this special group of people regardless of whether they are asylum seekers or felons. Jesus is the answer to their American dream and only He can give them a new life.
“ ….. I was in prison and you came to visit me…….. When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:36, Matthew 25:39-40
