奥林匹亚华人基督教会从2007开始成为全球圣经促进会（GBI）的合作伙伴。 GBI 是一个以圣经翻译为主的宣教机构。它追寻来自哈巴谷书2:14的异象: “认识耶和华荣耀的知识，要充满遍地，好像水充满洋海一般” ，要运用高科技加快圣经翻译，让世上每个族群都能用自己最熟悉的语言阅读圣经。 GBI 创建与1998 年，开始是一组亚洲的圣经翻译专案，语言有中文，印度文，孟加拉文，缅甸文和柬埔寨文，后来逐渐成为全球 “教会为中心” 圣经翻译运动的一部分，与联合圣经公会及威克里夫等机构共同开发圣经翻译软体。
全球共有6000多种语言，目前有完整圣经或部分圣经只有约1300种。为了帮助世界各地的本土教会翻译圣经，尽快覆盖余下的语言，GBI 用计算语言学和机器学习的方法开发了一套特有的工具，使圣经翻译更快更准确。这些工具也能让那些未学过希伯来文和希腊文的信徒参与到翻译工作中。这些年来，奥林匹亚华人教会一直在财务上和人力上支持这项事工。
OCCC has been a partner of Global Bible Initiative (GBI) since 2007. GBI is a mission organization focused on Bible translation. With the vision that “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord’s glory, as the water covers the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14), it has the mission to use technology to speed up Bible translation, so that every people group in the world can read the scripture in their “heart language”. It began in 1998 as a cluster of Bible translation projects in Asia, producing new translations in Chinese, Hindi, Punjabi, Burmese and Khmer, and gradually evolved into a global player in the church-centric Bible translation movement in collaboration with major Bible translation organizations such as United Bible Society and the Wycliffe Translators.
There are about 7000 languages in the world, but less than 10% of them currently have complete Bibles or portions of the Bible. To help engage and equip the indigenous Church around the world in Bible translation so as to cover the remaining languages as soon as possible, GBI has been applying computational linguistics and machine learning to the development of a unique set of tools that maximize translation accuracy and efficiency. They also enable people not formally trained in Hebrew and Greek to participate in the translation process. OCCC has been contributing both financial and human resources to this ministry.
